Frequently Asked
Questions
Everything you want to know about RunMate Pro — before you download.
Is RunMate Pro really free?
Yes. RunMate Pro is completely free with no ads, no in-app purchases, and no hidden costs. Optional premium features (advanced analytics, AI training plans, team features) are coming in the future — the core app will always remain free.
How accurate is the GPS tracking?
RunMate Pro uses your device's high-accuracy GPS with background location support. The app tracks your route even with your phone in your pocket and screen off. Accuracy is typically within 3–10 meters depending on your device and GPS signal conditions.
Can I track multiple pairs of running shoes?
Yes. You can add up to 20 pairs of running shoes, each with individual mileage tracking, lifespan targets, and replacement alerts. You select which shoes you're wearing before each run.
Does the app need an internet connection?
GPS tracking requires an internet connection. However, your saved routes, shoe data, run history, and the Runner's Guide are all stored locally on your device and accessible anytime.
What makes RunMate Pro different from Strava?
RunMate Pro has no social feed, no leaderboards, no Segments, and no subscription paywall for basic features. It's built for runners who want focused training tools — not a fitness social network.
What makes it different from Nike Run Club?
RunMate Pro includes shoe mileage tracking, injury prevention guides, and professional kinesiology taping tutorials — none of which exist in Nike Run Club. We also don't require a Nike account or tie you to a brand ecosystem.
Do I need to create an account?
No account required. RunMate Pro works immediately after download — no email, no password, no social profile. Your data lives on your device.
Is my data private and secure?
Your run data is stored locally on your iPhone. We don't collect or sell personal data. You can optionally sync with Apple Health for cross-app access. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Does it work with Apple Watch?
Apple Watch integration is on the roadmap. RunMate Pro currently runs on iPhone. You can sync completed runs to Apple Health for access from other Health-connected apps and devices.
Is an Android version coming?
Android is in development. Join our waitlist by emailing admin@tapegeeks.com with subject "Android Waitlist" to be notified when it's available.
What are the upcoming premium features?
Planned premium additions include: advanced performance analytics, AI-powered training recommendations, team/club features, and third-party integrations. Early adopters who download the free app now will lock in founder pricing when premium launches. Core features are free forever — premium is optional.
